The fact is, neither expanding executive power nor redistributing wealth upward will save lives or address the root cause of the crisis. Instead of moving public wealth into private corporations, the government should be doing the opposite. Through a series of compounding national emergencies, a benevolent response would be the first my generation has ever witnessed.
